POLICIES,TERMS AND CONDITIONS
What to Bring: For Provide First Aid you must bring along the Certificate of Completion from the pre-course online workbook, or the equivalent hard copy Workbook and Answer Sheet. You need to complete the pre-course workbook before the practical class for a Statement of Attainment to be issued on the day. In the unusual circumstance that you cannot complete the workbook prior to the class, please discuss with your instructor prior to attendance.
Wear comfortable, modest clothing as a considerable amount of time is spent on the floor practising CPR. Also bring a pen and paper for taking notes. Please bring your own food as we only have two short 15min breaks during the day to enable you to leave on time. Please bring your sense of humour too! Support Services: Please discuss any language, literacy or numeracy issues with the us prior to attending. This will enable the instructor to organise appropriate support facilities, for example we can arrange to conduct assessments orally rather than in the written form, or extra tuition, as appropriate. Health Issues: Please discuss with the instructor prior to attending, any health issues which may affect your training and assessment. Practising of CPR is usually done on the floor using training manikins. Access and Equity: We do not discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, colour, sex, or religion. All students are treated equally. Our instructors will assist and support students where appropriate, especially those students with language, literacy, or physical disabilities, so long as the nature of the disability does not preclude them from completing the training and assessment. Currency It is a generally accepted industry standard that a First Aid statement of attainment issued at course completion is valid for 3 years and a CPR statement of attainment is valid for 12 months. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends CPR refresher training is completed at least every 12 months. Course Description: The course runs in a classroom-type face to face trainer led environment. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and practise simulated first aid during the scenarios, and also whilst practising CPR. Assessment involves demonstration of CPR techniques on a manikin; 20 MCQ theory questions; and a variety of scenarios of first aid situations. If you are unsuccessful in the assessment, the instructor will provide further training at the end of the day, and re-assess you on the day. If you are still unsuccessful you can make arrangement to attend another session, and you’ll be able to re do the assessment at no extra cost [maximum 2 attempts, otherwise an additional fee will be charged for the instructor’s time]. Outcome: Upon successful completion of the course you’ll be provided with an industry recognised Statement of Attainment for the competency units.
